Another Driveway Moment

Much to my children’s dismay, I am an NPR Junkie. My car radio is tuned 24/7 to public radio and it is addictive! Because of this personal problem, I continue to experience many “driveway moments”. You know, you’re listening to a story and suddenly you arrive at your destination. If time permits, I might just sit in my car for the next half hour listening intently. However, because this is not always practical, I frequently have to download the Podcast so that I don’t miss a moment. As simple as it may seem, discovering this application changed my life!  For those of you reading this blog, you may be aware that I am attempting to expand my very limited “social media” knowledge by taking a class with educators who are totally embracing the latest and greatest technology. Ironically, last week on NPR’s Morning Edition, the timely topic of physicians using digital devices in the hospitals was featured. It was stated that some doctors have eagerly embraced these tools while others fear that these gadgets can be distracting and dangerous to patient safety. If you have an extra 5 minutes to listen, I guarantee you will be entertained. Let me know what you think.
